Dear Partner in Prevention:

Much has happened since Prevention Partnership opened its doors to serve the people of Chicago. Prevention Partnership has grown from its modest beginning to become a vigorous source of needed services. Our growth was made possible by the support of people like those we honored on October 3, 2002, at the 15th Anniversary of Prevention Partnership, Inc.

At that event we honored a number of Chicago's finest:

Allison Payne, co-anchor of News at Nine on WGN-TV, (photo left) who has won five Emmys and was selected by Today's Chicago Woman as one of the 100 women making a difference in the City.

Sylvia Jones, Special Projects Producer at WGN-TV, (photo right) herself an Emmy winner, and selected by the Society of Professional Journalists as Young Journalist of the Year for 2001.

Bishop Simon Gordon, Pastor, Triedstone Full Gospel Baptist Church, (photo left) who is instrumental in the selection of Bishops, Pastors, and Ministers throughout Illinois, and spearheads many initiatives to better the lives of Illinois residents.

We look forward confidently to the next fifteen years but know we face a future which requires us to embark on a new path. Prevention Partnership has received nearly all of its past funding from governmental sources. In the aftermath of the tragic events of last September 11, many federal and local government departments have, of necessity, reallocated resources and made cuts in funds for areas like social services. To ensure our growing presence in the community, we are embarking on a path that will require financial support from businesses and private citizens as well as city, state, and the federal government.

We ask you to consider a contribution in support of our continued service to the Chicago Community. You, too, can make a difference!

Sincerely,

Albert L. Orsello
President and Chief Executive Officer
