On Friday, June 1,
2007, the Prevention Partnership in association with the Triedstone
Full Gospel Baptist Church will be hosting their 4th Annual
Faith-Based Conference on HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse and Health Promotion
at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church located at 1257-59 W. 111th Street in
Chicago, Illinois.
The Prevention Partnership is a substance abuse prevention organization which has been providing programs and services to Chicago communities since 1987. Beginning in 1996, its efforts have included training faith leaders and lay people in developing and implementing health promotion ministries in minority churches. The 2007 conference will address topics such as how to develop a health promotion ministry and how to integrate them into existing activities. Workshops will also provide sessions on proposal writing and resource development. Another important goal of the conference is to assist in networking with existing community based providers. The intended audience includes faith leaders, lay leaders, congregation members, community leaders, and community-based service providers. The conference will begin at 8:30am with continental breakfast and continue until 4:00pm. Lunch will be provided. For more information on this free event please contact the Prevention
